 Size 8”x10” oil on gessoboard

When I first spotted the asparagus in the grocery store I instinctively wanted to paint them; but I went home without them because I had never cooked asparagus before. My mind kept wandering back to them, so I decided to look up some recipes to cook them afterwards. This painting is a simple straight forward composition, that I enjoyed painting. Sometimes simplicity works the best.

  1. I love the way you stood them upright, they have a sense of movement to them that way. Nicely done!
